An Organic Farm and Vintage Cars
I felt like their personal paparazzi, everywhere we turned there was a photo-op. The organic farm was a perfect place for this quaint little wedding. Harliegh called it "Quirky" but it is also beautiful and memorable. I got upstairs to see the girls getting ready and Harleigh asked me timidly if she could get on that car, pointing out the window. I lit up, BIG bulb lights, not the energy saver kind. We were on it!!!!
Harleigh and a Vintage Chevy
I have been dying to share this since I took it last Saturday. There are so many unique photos and portraits from Harleigh and Seans wedding but I had time to edit one for this post to share. I have been waiting to photograph a bride on a Vintage Chevy for several years, like 3. When I arrived to photograph Harleigh getting ready I stole her dress (Just for a photo of course) and on my way across the yard I saw old vintage cars. I am sure all of the farmers and neighbors thought we were crazy, what most of the people in the area find as Junk I totally see as treasure. Man It's Gold!!!! But you should have seen their faces. I had the flash of a Master Card commercial going through my head and well it's priceless. I returned the dress to the beautiful bride and before I could even express my excitement for the car she lit up with a bit of hesitation and asked, did you see that old car could I sit on the car or something? I immediately beamed with excitement, it isn't every day that my dreams get to come true at someone elses wedding. So, I get to thank Harleigh for that one. We went and photographed Harleigh on the old vintage car up north in the beautiful countryside of Kansas. Enjoy!
P.S. No dresses or clothes were harmed, dirtied, or damaged during this photo shoot.
Harleigh + Sean a Beautiful Kansas Wedding
This all began with a name written beautifully on a piece of paper, Harleigh Upton. I pulled it out of a keep sake box with metal latches. I looked it over, I prayed, and then I handed it to Marco. This is the one. I said Whoever has the name Harleigh has got to be someone special. I Love IT! Marco was his calm self, smiling sincerely at me and answered simply, Well, Ok. There wasnt much to do but announce our winners for the 2010 free wedding. We do this every year! And it all began with our first wedding here in Kansas City. I am a Christian, I love God, and Jesus totally changed my life and my family. Before we even knew what hit us, before we even knew what tithing was, we tithed our talent to God! And over the years he has blessed us and we are greatly thankful! I only hope that I can be a blessing back. This year at our grand opening we had about 10 people drop their names into a little box, but it was Harleighs that got pulled out. Harleigh and Sean are the most genuine, loving, caring, ridiculously sweet people I know. Every time we had a meeting or a photo shoot it was so much fun. We just clicked, like long lost best friends, and its in those moments that I thank God for how wonderful my job really is. I cant believe that I get to do this every day! Their wedding was out at an organic farm, so armed with lots-o bug spray Marco and I were off. We drove and drove and drove all the way over by Troy, Kansas. But it wasnt in Troy, I just kept driving by the Troy water tower trying to find the right country road to go down for the ceremony. There were signs, and signs, and signs. The ceremony was in a secluded area that the groom prepared. There were candles and wild flowers lining the isle, and a beautiful archway that everyone had to walk through before they could get to their seat. Harleigh draped the archway with hundreds of feathers. It was simple, it was handmade, and it was beautiful. Everything was perfect from her gorgeously fitted lace dress to the wildflowers she carried down the isle. I really hope and pray that everyone loves Sean and Harleighs wedding photos. Please feel free to leave comments, it is encouraging.
