Country Engagement Nathan and Nicole had a beautiful Kansas wedding and engagement session

Nathan and Nicole came up for their Engagement session and I was so worried about the weather. I thought it would rain, down poor. It held off and we ended the session in the rain. This California girl came to Kansas and took her sisters advice, "find your self a nice cowboy" she did!

It was hard to find a beautiful spot in Johnson County that screamed Nathan and Nicole. But we do live in Kansas and if I look hard enough and listen to great friends, (thank you Chris for recommending this location) I can find just about anything! Nicole is from California and when she came to the midwest she fell head over heals in love with a genuine country guy, Nathan. When I first met this cute couple Nathan was waring his cowboy hat and didnt say much. Nicole knew just what she wanted. She talked about everything from the wedding plans they were making to how they met and why she came to Kansas, but it wasnt just what Nicole was saying, it was how she said it. She was in Love!!!! She spoke in her fun laid back California way and I was hooked. I wanted to bless them with amazing wedding photos. When you talk with me I dont seem like the kinda girl that rode a horse when I was 5 or the kinda girl that would even go camping. I seem like a city girl with stiletto heels, Anthropology clothes, Gap jeans, and an urban studio overlooking the skyline. But somewhere deep inside of my Love for the Big Bustling City; are my roots. My roots are in Kansas and ultimately I am a farmers daughter. So, this is where I come from: Land wide open, rolling hills, and a sky that goes for days, big morning breakfasts, gravel roads, fishing for hours, and horses. Oh yeah and the best 4th of Julys you could ever imagine!!!!

This weekend Nicole and Nathan will be getting married in Meadowview Gardens in Bates City, Mo. Marco and I are really excited. But first here is their engagement session and photos we took a few weeks ago.

He arrived early in wranglers and a cowboy hat checking the place out, making it perfect for Nicole. We finished photographing the details of the reception hall and began photographing the other details. Her flowers were beautiful, and each bridesmaid bouquet was set apart with different colored satin ribbon wrapping each stem. Nicole and Nathan embraced the colors of the fall in every detail; from the cake, to the dresses, and even her bright orange shoes. Their ceremony was a romantic dream that took place at sunset, the receiving line was over at twilight. Each bridesmaid walked down a beautiful windy path from the reception site to the ceremony. It was wonderful to watch Nicoles loving wonderful father walk her down a beautiful isle to the man she loves at sunset. Nathan watched her and watched her, she was beautiful, like a classy movie star in the 40s. Here are some of my favorite photos from Nathan and Nicoles wedding.
