Erin and Marco met in an Opera...

Erin and Marco first saw each other in 2002 during the musical "Cabaret". Erin was photographing the event. Marco, new to the company, was cast as a sailor. Though they worked together to produce images that were used for publication & promotion of the show they wouldn't officially carry on a conversation until two years later during the production of Mozart's "Don Giovanni".

Though Erin was beginning to emerge as a professional photographer it didn't change the fact that she could sing & dance, and often took theatre and music classes. So to no one's surprise Erin was asked to perform in the opera. Marco was now fully active in the theatre. Not only could he sing and dance, he could sew, design, and customize costumes. With a massive cast & Erin's photography workload the two didn't speak until opening night.

During a large ballroom scene Erin had to dance around with a tray, serving everyone and picking up all the wine glasses. With the set being so big and rows of pillars behind the curtain, Erin tripped and the glasses shattered all over the floor! The crew and chorus members that weren't on stage helped Erin clean up the mess. Marco brought a flashlight and helped her pick up the large pieces of glass, and reassured a very nervous actress that everything was fine. Later that night Erin was going on stage to sing and dance with a partner. The thing about an opera is that though an actor is facing and moving around stage with other actors, the audience still has to hear them. So, when Erin realized she had bad breath she immediately asked Marco for some gum. He said he didn't have any but "this piece" (holding out the one from his mouth). To his surprise, Erin took the gum and ran on stage. Throughout the week and the course of this four hour opera, Erin and Marco were inseparable and became best friends.

It took a couple of years and five proposals for Erin to finally marry Marco. They simply signed papers in an art gallery with Erin's cousin & friends from the production. On May 12th of 2012 they will finally have their own official wedding and say vows in front of family and friends, and most importantly God!

To this day Marco will still design clothes, but for now they are all Erin's. Erin loves to sing and dance, though she would never want to do it professionally, it's just a personal outlet & fun. Every now and again Erin & Marco will sing in the church choir, and while they aren't involved in theatre productions any more, going to the movies with their two beautiful and wonderful children has become one of their favorite pastimes.
